Marc Pye<\/p><\/div>\n

Marc Pye has been writing for film and television for the past 16 years.<\/p>\n

His first television break came with STV\u2019s High Road, where he went on to write 29 episodes, before moving to The Bill, Eastenders and River City.<\/p>\n

After publishing two novels, Lollipop<\/em> and Rewire<\/em> (Sceptre) he went on to write three short films – Baldy McBain<\/em>, Last Legs<\/em> and Instant Credit, <\/em>all of <\/em>which premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Instant Credit, <\/em>starring Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings) <\/em>was also selected for the Newport Beach Film Festival, LA in 2004.<\/p>\n

Marc has since gone on to write for Waterloo Road<\/em>, The Royal, Holby Blue<\/em> and Echo Beach<\/em>, but is probably best known for his work with Jimmy McGovern, where he penned the BAFTA, International Emmy and RTS award winning episode The Flasher<\/em> on Series One of The Street. <\/em>Marc continued his working relationship with Jimmy on his next series Moving On<\/em>, where he penned the powerful and moving story, Bully<\/em>.<\/p>\n

His first feature, Act of Grace<\/em>, starring Leo Gregory, David Yip and Jennifer Lim is due to be released this year, and he is currently writing Screw<\/em>, a 2-part psychological prison drama for television due on our screens in 2011.<\/p>\n

Jim Brown said, \u201cFrom the first minute I met Marc I knew that we would work well together.\u00a0 When I pitched him the story of Thomas and Meg he got it right away, he could see my vision.\u00a0 I love our creative sessions, where we usually sit in the George in Edinburgh, drink wine and dig deep into the characters.\u00a0 I also like the way he tells me to shut-up when one of my incredibly complicated plot lines lands on the table.\u00a0 Marc is a truly gifted writer who you will hear a lot more of in the future.\u00a0\u00a0 We are already making plans to drink more wine and have many more crazy creative conversations.<\/p>\n

Marc on Between Weathers:<\/em> \u201cAs soon as Jim pitched me the premise for Between Weathers I fell in love with it. I know that it translates well to the page, as the response we\u2019ve had to the script has been incredible. It was a joy to write and I\u2019m happy to say people are now asking what else we\u2019ve got under our sleeve. Jim is a highly creative director, great on story and emotion, and a great guy to work with, as he respects and listens to the writer (a rare thing in this business) and a result of the anticipated success of Between Weathers we\u2019ve decided to repeat the winning formula of our mad, but highly creative meetings and are now building up a selective slate of film projects for B4 Films.
